Brown County Serenade Vol. 2
This Album is the sequel to Brown County Serenade Vol. 1. I was not quite finished with my musical tribute to Brown County and Nashville IN with just one album. I had some more to say. Brown County Serenade Vol. 2 is slightly musically different and has some personnel changes but it is cut from the same mold as Vol. 1.
I recorded the record mainly at the Trails End in Nashville IN and my home studio in Mooresville IN. "Brown County Wednesday Night", my tribute to the loyal friends that frequented my open mic night at Brown County Inn, was recorded LIVE in The Corn Crib Lounge at Brown County Inn November 13 2011 which was my release party for Brown County Serenade Vol.1.
I played all of the guitars and bass. Thanks to my son Larry Parish for the use of his bass and 12 string acoustic. Also Thanks to Kara Barnard of Weed Patch Music in Nashville IN for lending me the banjo I used on "The Ballad Of Dick Haversham" and Joe Johnson for his 1964 Gibson B-25 that I burrowed for all acoustic tracks.
All drums and percussion are handled by Dave Rollins. Claire Nolan lends her beautiful voice to lead vocals on "Not Broken". Multi Instrumentalist Tamera Lane of Celtica plays the field organ on "So Many" and Carolyn Dutton graces us with her violin on "This Fine Place".
These two records will remain special to me for various reasons. Mostly though, because of the memories of that special place and the people that live there.
